Man beats machine at Go in human victory over AI

An amateur player has defeated a highly ranked AI system at the board game Go by taking advantage of a previously unknown flaw in the computer program.

The tactics that led to the victory were suggested by a computer program that had identified a weakness in the AI system. The triumph highlights a weakness shared by most widely used AI systems, including the OpenAI chatbot.

While the victory was aided by tactics suggested by a computer, it comes seven years after the AlphaGo system defeated the world Go champion Lee Sedol by four games to one. The latest victory shows AI still has flaws, according to experts.
