Google has partnered with AI start-up Replit to provide access to its Cloud infrastructure and services, enabling the development platform's AI assistant, Ghostwriter, to produce and edit code.
Replit is a collaborative code editing platform used by 20 million programmers; more than 30% of the code written using it is already generated by Ghostwriter.
The partnership is viewed as a move by Google to compete with Microsoft's GitHub Copilot, and will offer faster deployment and scalability. Meanwhile, Replit hopes the alliance will resolve switching tab issues and provide software creators with a seamless idea-to-deployed product experience.
