According to research titled "Quantifying GitHub Copilot's impact on developer productivity and happiness" conducted by The GitHub Next team using a combination of surveys and experiments, GitHub Copilot has been found to significantly improve developer productivity and happiness. The team published some key findings:

• The first reveals that between 60-75% of users reported enhanced job satisfaction due to using GitHub Copilot. This uplift in satisfaction is attributed to reduced frustration during coding and the opportunity to engage in more fulfilling work.

• Furthermore, GitHub Copilot's influence on mental energy conservation is particularly notable. A significant 73% of developers felt that Copilot enabled them to maintain their workflow seamlessly, while an impressive 87% found it helped conserve mental effort on repetitive tasks.
