Mark the Milestones

As your project evolves, certain commits become more important than others - a first working version, a bug fix that solved a critical issue, or a release you shared with users. Git tags let you mark these commits with a meaningful name so you can find them easily later. Think of a tag as a permanent bookmark on a specific point in your project's history.
