Replication of Images

Harbor supports replication of images between different registries, allowing you to synchronize images across multiple Harbor instances or between Harbor and other OCI-compliant registries. The hosting of the destination registry can be either public or private. This feature is useful for disaster recovery, load balancing, and distributing images closer to deployment environments.

Replication, in general, can be done manually, but Harbor supports automated replication through replication policies. These policies define the source and destination registries, the images to be replicated, and the replication mode (push or pull).

In the push model, images are pushed from the source Harbor registry to the destination registry when they're pushed to the source. In the pull model, the source Harbor registry pulls images from the destination registry.

To demonstrate replication, you should set up a new Harbor instance as the destination registry. You can follow the same installation steps as before on a different server or virtual machine. Once you have the second Harbor instance running, you should create a new endpoint in the source Harbor instance that points to the destination Harbor instance. This can be done by navigating to Registries
