Azure Monitor provides several options to store and access metrics beyond the retention period, including continuous export to storage account or event hub, REST API to selectively export metrics, and SDKs for popular programming languages. These options allow you to access and manipulate metric data in familiar ways and integrate with authentication mechanisms.
