Amazon CloudFront has added a new feature that enables single-click provisioning of web application firewall (WAF) security, offering a hassle-free solution to protect against common threats.
- The newly added section within CloudFront offers users the ability to create and configure out-of-the-box AWS WAF protection, suitable as a first line of defence, which can be followed by further protections set up via the AWS WAF console.
- Previously, customers had to preconfigure the necessary security rules in an AWS WAF web access control list that they wanted to enable and interact with both the CloudFront and AWS WAF management consoles.
- Now, CloudFront handles the workload, creating and configuring AWS WAF with pre-approved protections for all applications.
