AWS has introduced Amazon S3 compatible storage on Snowball Edge Compute Optimized devices.
- This enables customers to store data and run highly available applications on the Snowball Edge devices in disconnected or limited network environments.
- The expanded S3 API features and increased cluster range make it easier for customers to develop, deploy, and manage applications requiring object storage on premises using the same tools across AWS Regions and Snow Family devices.
- The S3 compatible storage is available in AWS Commercial and GovCloud Regions where Snowball Edge Compute Optimized devices are available.
