Building an occupancy sensor with an ESP32 and a serverless DB

The author's inspiration came from their experience in college, where they used occupancy sensors to avoid crowds in the dining hall. However, when the university switched providers, they lost access to the occupancy data and began exploring the possibility of using Bluetooth beacons to track occupancy.
