OpenAI is developing plugins for ChatGPT to extend its capabilities, including third-party tools, a browsing plugin, and a Code Interpreter.
The Code Interpreter can generate and run code, upload/download files, and evaluate output within the ChatGPT interface. It currently supports Python with a small selection of libraries.
Code Interpreter can analyze code output and use it in another function, enabling chaining code sections together.
Examples of experiments with the Code Interpreter plugin include:
- generating sound,
- QR codes,
- image manipulation,
- generative animation,
- Optical Character Recognition (OCR),
- calendar invites,
- drawing,
- basic statistical text generation, and simulations.
