CockroachDB has expanded its use on the cloud, with its availability confirmed as an as-a-service platform on Microsoft's Azure.
The distributed SQL database service is one of only a few capable of running across the three main cloud providers, offering cost-effective, pay-per-use benefits for transactional workloads worldwide.
The move comes as part of a series of improvements to the computing solution, which includes add-ons that aid legacy database migration, improved automation on the cloud and better performance management tools.
