Meta's global privacy director admitted that, unlike the EU where GDPR mandates opt-out options for AI data collection, Australians can't prevent Meta from scraping their Facebook and Instagram data for AI training, including photos and texts from as far back as 2007, unless set to private, sparking concerns about privacy and regulatory disparities.
