Microsoft, OpenAI sued for ChatGPT 'privacy violations'

Microsoft and OpenAI were sued on Wednesday by sixteen pseudonymous individuals who claimed that the companies' AI product, ChatGPT, collected and disclosed personal information without proper notice or consent, allegedly scraping billions of words from the internet that included personal information. The complaint alleges that Microsoft and OpenAI collected, stored, tracked, and shared personal information from millions of people, including details such as account information, contact details, payment information, and online activities.
