New AWS storage type for Fedora Linux

New AWS storage type for Fedora Linux

  • The Fedora Cloud SIG has updated the image publishing configuration for Fedora Linux AWS images to use the latest generation storage option and simplify the image listings.
  • This involves replacing gp2 storage with gp3 storage by default for new images and removing standard storage from new images.
  • The benefit of these changes is more consistent performance for a lower cost with gp3 storage and a reduction in the number of images to review when launching an instance.
  • The format of the image names has changed, but the string of the storage type portion has been updated to reflect the change.
