This article discusses the challenges and benefits of migrating banking and finance applications to the cloud.

The author,David Mitchell, argues that in order to fully utilize the benefits of the cloud, organizations should examine and re-architect their entire application estate using cloud native technologies to increase developer productivity, drive engineering velocity and decrease time-to-market.

The article also discusses the concept of 'Internal Developer Platforms (IDP)', platforms built by platform teams to create golden paths and enable the developer's self-service, and the challenges of maintaining and continuously improving such platforms.
