AWS has released an update to the documentation for the AWS Lambda function lifecycle, stating that when using unreserved on-demand concurrency, Lambda may proactively initialize function instances even before there is an invocation. This proactive initialization helps reduce the impact of cold starts and improve the overall performance of Lambda functions.
