Revamped Analytics: Unlock Deeper Insights with Squadcast

Squadcast has launched a completely revamped Analytics feature for incident management with improved flexibility, visualization, and performance. Key updates include customizable Time to Acknowledge/Resolve metrics, noise reduction visualization, transient alert tracking, priority-based grouping, and enhanced performance. Coming soon: on-call hours tracking per user. The redesign aims to provide deeper insights, faster processing, and more customization options.

At Squadcast, we’re always striving to make incident management seamless, efficient, and data-driven. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the launch of our revamped Analytics feature! This major upgrade transforms the way you access metrics and insights about your incident response, offering a new level of granularity and speed.

What’s New?

We’ve completely overhauled the Incident Management Analytics feature, and made it more intuitive. We’ve introduced several new panels, giving the feature a fresh look and feel. The changes aren’t just skin deep — here’s what’s happening behind the scenes:

  • Flexible TTA and TTR Aggregation: Choose how you’d like to aggregate Time to Acknowledge (TTA) and Time to Resolve (TTR) using Mean, Median, 75th Percentile, 90th Percentile, or 99th Percentile.
  • Noise Reduction Visualization: See the percentage of noisy alerts for each service, along with a detailed breakdown of how this noise was silenced.
  • Transient Alert Metrics: Track the percentage of transient alerts for each service and measure how effectively Squadcast proactively identifies and suppresses them.
  • Group by Priority and Status: Visualize your team’s effectiveness in managing high-priority incidents versus low-priority ones.
  • On-Call Hours per User: Monitor the number of on-call hours for each of your engineers. (Coming Soon)
  • Enhanced Performance and Reliability: We’ve made significant behind-the-scenes improvements to boost performance and reliability.

Let’s dive into the revamped features:

1. Incident Analytics

This section focuses on actionable metrics derived from incident data, helping teams better understand and improve their incident response process. Here’s what you can expect:

Key Metrics:

  • Incident Count by Status, Priority, Assignee, and Service: View how incidents are distributed across various categories.
  • Incident Trends Over Time: Analyze incident generation patterns over specific dates or days.

Response Metrics:

  • Aggregate data by Incident Count by Status, Priority, Assignee, and Service.
  • Customize metrics using measures like mean, median, and more. Offering multiple aggregation methods ensures accuracy and flexibility in analyzing response times.

Our enhanced Analytics feature now offers deeper insights and metrics, allowing you to gain visibility into incident alerts that are transient, triggered, deduplicated, suppressed, or intelligently grouped.

These insights help teams fine-tune noise-reduction strategies for optimal efficiency and reliability.

2. On-Call Analytics (Coming Soon)

We don’t intend to stop here, we also have something interesting coming your way. We know on-call schedules play a critical role in incident management, and our new On-Call Analytics will provide detailed metrics for better schedule management. Here is a sneak peak into the capability:

On-Call Hours by User:

This capability will help you monitor on-call workload and foster equitable scheduling practices. You will be able to:

  • Track the total hours spent on-call by each user.
  • Measure the time spent on overrides for better workload distribution insights.

Why This Matters

The revamped Analytics feature is built to empower teams with:

  • Deeper Insights: Comprehensive metrics to identify trends and bottlenecks.
  • Faster Processing: Seamless access to insights for organizations of all sizes.
  • Customizable Options: Tailored metrics that align with your operational priorities.

By providing advanced visibility into incident and on-call data, Squadcast ensures your team is equipped to optimize workflows, improve response times, and enhance operational efficiency.
