Sync Phases and Hooks: Run Your Own Code Around a Sync

Argo CD applies your manifests. It does not run your database migration first, it does not check that the app came up, and it does not clean up after a failed deploy. A plain sync moves Kubernetes objects into the cluster and stops there.
